Two days by longtail

About 48 hours in Krabi and Railay

Krabi’s islands are close enough to Ao Nang to see in two days by longtail or speedboat, if you start early.

Day 1: the Four Islands

Leave early for Ko Poda, a short ride south of Ao Nang, then Ko Kai (Chicken Island) and Thale Waek, where a sandbar joins the islands at low tide (TAT). Swim and snorkel off the white beaches.

Day 2: canyons and mangroves

Ko Lao Lading has a curved beach between rock cliffs (TAT). In the afternoon, explore the mangrove channels of Thalane Bay (TAT) by kayak, then back to Ao Nang for the sunset.

Our advice: check the tide table for Thale Waek, and leave before the day-trip boats.
